Grizzly Peak Cyclists Russian River 200Km

Well I just got done running 13.5 miles with 3000' of climbing out in the single tracks of Redwood Park with Matt Ware. Man I am so fried I figure if I don't post on my page now when I'm grounded I never will. Yesterday Tom, Greg, Chris, Brian, Dad and myself joined the GPC for a double metric century(127miles) out in Marin. We ended up getting 23 riders together for this long ride, another great showing from the GPC. Everyone started out while I was still trying to put on my heart monitor so I figured I take pictures of everyone as I passed them. I figured this would be easy enough since everyone should be taking it easy for the first few miles(Yeah Right!)

Sorry I don't know everyone's name but I'll through a # next to each Pic and you guys can post a reply with names to each frame and I'll add them in.

Alright It looks like that was everyone, Oh wait where are all the Antioch-Brentwood riders.

You guessed it everyone of them are off the front making a break for it in a 127 mile ride, Come on are you kidding me!

Tom on the first climb 5 miles into the ride thinking wheres the fire why are we riding so fast 5 miles into 127.

Chris just cruising with a smile.

And who do we have at the front of this Break away, None other then Brian showing off his 2010 Death Ride Jersey.

I think this Is climbing up Wilson Hill Rd. I'm not sure why but this picture came out extremely clear, I only wish I could get this quality every time.

On the return route on Hwy 1

Nice view of the Ocean

Everyone is back to arm warmers and jackets in the coastal fog.

100 down 27 to go(this is a piece of cake compared to the death ride)

Brian pulling everyone along

That was a hard ride I don't remember there being so many steep rollers on Hwy 1. But we all finish and my dad set a P.R. for longest distance ridden. I think we ended up with an average speed of 17.5MPH, witch is very impressive with all the hills and wind.

Special Thanks to GPC for organizing yet another great ride.

Grizzly Peak Cyclists Second Saturday Ride

The Brentwood-Antioch wreaking crew showed up 7 strong for the GPC(Grizzly Peak Cyclist) Second Saturday all club ride. Riders were Dave Prichett, Ron Peri, Greg Houle, Chris Munoz, Phill(sorry I didn't catch your last name), Dad and my self. Normally when we show up in force like this me make up more then half the presto(fast long distance) group. I guess the GPC had enough of that and responded 15 of there own riders, for those short on fingers and toes that's 22 rider total.

This is most everyone in all three groups at the first regroup spot after this we split off and ride our own pace and routes.

Since this was only my second ride in five months i spent most the time in the draft trying to save my legs. So I wasn't sprinting ahead and taking pictures like normal, that's why I only got a few snaps.

This is at the top off everybody's favorite(insert sarcasm) city climb before we drop down to the golf course on redwood rd.

I can't tell if those are faces if those are gasps of anguish or smiles of triumph.

All in all another great outing with the GPC like always.
Special thanks the GPC and our ride leader Mark Abrahams for dealing with all 22 riders and leading a great ride.

Brentwood to Livermore and Back Ride

Saturday we got a group together consisting of Jeff Cowling, Randy, Tom, Greg, Dave Prichett, Dad and Myself for a quick 70 miles. We started in Brentwood then head through Marsh Creek Rd. and up Morgan Territory Rd., quick snack at the top and then hauled a$$ down into Livermore, made our way over to Altamont Pass Rd. then left on Mountain House Rd. to J-4 back to Brentwood.

Tom showing the peloton how to ride up Morgan Territory Rd. with style.

Jeff leading the chase group with Greg on his left, Randy directly behind Greg out of sight, then Dad, with Dave in the rear grabbing a bite to eat.

Dave proving beyond I doubt that South Africans DO! know how to ride no handed :lol

Damn that was one hell of a first ride of the Year but a great way to shock the legs back into shape.
